Beauty, sensuality and care.  Paintings of female figures transform the matter into transparent picture poetry.

Flora

Flower paintings with an abundance of roses, peonies, lilacs and other types of danish flowers.

Decoration of Skalstrup Home Guard Quarters and the baroque palace Tusculum

Military quarters with an alert soldier wearing camouflage and ready for action is the recurring figure in the vivid decoration completed in 2005.  Ceilings, walls and over doors were decorated during the 2½ years Lars Rasmussen spent redoing a private palace.

Portraits tell Stories

Traditional hand painted portraits have seen a renaissance during the last 10-15 years.
It's a difficult art form with its own stubborn insistence of its unique qualities.

Royal Wedding Present: "Between Heaven and Earth"

Roskilde Cathedral is located in the mediaeval Danish town where kings and queens
have been buried for centuries.  When the royal prince was married in May 2004, he
and his wife received a painting from the town of Roskilde.

Framework

Frames are often overlooked.  When Lars Rasmussen starts to prepare a new painting,
he  begins by planning the framework together with the painting.  It's a matter of honor
ensuring that a painting is complete.  And this includes the framework!
